About Deputy Conservator of Forests Amrawati Division

Forests of Amravati Circles belongs to Southern Tropical Dry Deciduous Forests as classified by Champion and Seth. Forests of Amravati Circle are having various types of timber yielding as well as species having medicinal values. The entire forest area, particularly forest area of Melghat region is having ample number of wild animals and rich in Bio-diversity. The important timber species are mainly Teak, Bija, Saja, Haldu, Kalam etc. along with Dhawada, Tendu, Moha, Salai etc tree species which constitutes NTFP in large quantity. Natural bamboo occurs only in the areas of East Melghat and West Melghat Division while it is sparsely occurs in the area of Amravati and Buldhana Division.
