How To Apply :

  • Tenure & Training. Enrolment is for an initial period of 20 years extendable up to the age of 57 years (subject to service conditions). Initially candidates will be sent for a Joint Basic Phase Training (JBPT) at Basic Training Institute, Belagavi (Karnataka). On successful completion of JBPT, candidates will be sent for trade training of specified duration. Training is however liable to be terminated at any time if the trainee fails to achieve the required standards in academics, profession, physical fitness and discipline or is found to be medically unfit. AFTER SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF TRAINING, THE AIRMEN WILL BE DEPLOYED ON GROUND BASED JOBS AS PER THEIR ALLOTTED TRADE. ALLOTTED TRADE WILL NOT BE CHANGED ON CANDIDATE’S REQUEST ON ANY GROUNDS. 12. Candidates appearing for IAF(S) trade must possess basic competency in swimming and that they would be discharged from service if they fail in swimming test at the Training Institute subsequently. Provisionally selected candidates are advised to learn basic swimming which could be an advantage to them during swimming training. The candidates need to render an undertaking that he is not suffering from Acrophobia (fear of height).
  • Examination/Rally venue will be open from 0600h-1000h and the examinations will be conducted as per the details given below. Candidates (from designated districts of State of Chhattisgarh) fulfilling the domicile requirements and eligibility conditions reporting up to 10 AM on 07 June 2017 and 09 June 2017 at the Rally Venue will only be permitted to appear in the Recruitment Test.

NCC Air Wing Senior Division ‘C’ certificate acquired on or after 21 May 15 is mandatory. Selection Procedure :

  • All applicants whose applications are submitted by due date will be called for testing at one of the Air Force Selection Boards (AFSBs) at Dehradun, Mysore, and Varanasi. The testing would consist of three stages as given below:-
  • Stage-I: Officer Intelligence Rating Test along with Picture Perception and discussion Test will be conducted on the first day. Stage-I test is a screening test and only those who qualify would undergo subsequent testing. All Stage-I qualified candidates would be subjected to document check to ascertain their eligibility for NCC Special Entry Scheme applied for. Those candidates who either do not qualify in Stage-I or do not meet the required eligibility criteria would be sent back on the first day itself.
  • Stage-II: Testing consisting of Psychological, Group Tests and Interview will commence after document check for the next five days. (c) Computerised Pilot Selection System (CPSS) would be administered to recommended candidates only. This is once in a lifetime test. Candidates who have failed the (CPSS)/PABT in an earlier attempt or a Flight Cadet suspended from flying training at Air Force Academy will not be eligible to apply

Pay and Allowances, IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS

Pay and Allowances: A Flying Officer will be entitled to Pay in Pay Band of 15,600 – 39,100 per month along with Grade Pay, Military Service Pay, Dearness Allowance, Kit Maintenance Allowance, Transport Allowance. In addition, other allowances are applicable based on nature of duty / place of posting and would include Flying Allowance, Field Area Allowance, Special Compensatory (Hill area) Allowance, Special Force Allowance, Siachin Allowance, Island Special Duty Allowance, Test Pilot & Flight Test Engineer Allowance, Area Allowance and Remote Locality Allowance. On successful completion of Training, newly commissioned Flying officers would be entitled to approximate gross monthly emoluments in different branches including Transport Allowance of major cities as follows:- Flying Branch:- ` 82,050/-

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS:

  • In case the candidates are awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the conversion of grades/CGPA to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure certified by the University from where they have obtained the degree. In case the University does not have any scheme for converting CGPA to percentage conversion certificate, CGPA will be converted into 10 points scale and multiplied by 10 to get equivalent percentage.
  • Candidates are required to maintain their unique E-Mail ID active throughout the selection process. Candidates must carry call letter and a valid photo identity card such as passport, driving licence, voter identity card, college identity card or any other valid photo identity proof while reporting to AFSB Interview.
