Applications are invited from Indian citizens for appointment of 49(Forty nine) teaching positions in the following Departments , The University of Burdwan in the Pay Structure as noted against each and other admissible allowances, as amended from time to time: Advertisement for appointment to the following teaching posts for the Department of (i) Molecular Biology and Human Genetics (ii)Physiology (iii) Nutrition and Public Health (iv) Electronics and Communication (v) Geospatial Science (vi) Psychology & (vii) Women’s Studies

4. Essential Qualification: 

a) An eminent scholar having Post graduate Degree (M.Sc.) in Human genetics/ Genetics/Zoology /Biochemistry / Molecular Biology / Biotechnology/ Physiology/Biophysics or allied subjects, Ph.D. degree and or post-doctoral research experience in the area of Human Genetics/ Cell Biology/immunology/Genomics or allied areas as evident from high quality publications. A minimum of ten years of teaching/Research experience as per stipulated guidelines. Research supervision as evidence of guiding PhD students as per norms.

b) An eminent scholar having B.Sc. (Honours) in Physiology and M.Sc. in Physiology Ph.D. degree and post-doctoral research experience in the area of Ergonomics and Occupational health / Sports Physiology/ Endocrinology and reproductive Physiology/ Biochemistry& Microbiology or allied Bioscience subjects as evident from high quality publications and actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with a minimum of prescribed research publications and or research score as per applicable. A minimum of ten years of teaching/Research experience as per stipulated guidelines. Research supervision as evidence of guiding Ph.D. students as per norms.

c) An eminent scholar having Graduation and Post-graduation degree in Nutrition / Public Health / Biochemistry / Epidemiology / Community Health/ Community Medicine/, Ph.D. degree and post-doctoral research experience in the area of Nutrition/ Applied Nutrition/Biochemistry / Genetics & Metabolism / Functional Genomics & Microbiome /Physiology / Endocrinology / Epidemiology / Community Medicine/Community Health as evident from high quality publications and actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with a minimum of prescribed research publications and or research score as per applicable.A minimum of ten years of teaching/Research experience as per stipulated guidelines. Research supervision as evidence of guiding Ph.D. students as per norms.

d) M.Sc in Electronics With Ph.D related to Electronics and Communication/M.Sc. in Physics with special paper of any branch of electronics With Ph.D related to any branch of electronics/M. Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) with Ph.D related to Electronics and Communication.

e) BA/BSc in Geography/ BSc in Geology. MA/MSc in Geography/ MSc in Geology/ MSc in Geospatial Science/ MSc. in Geoinformatics/ MSc in Geomatics from a UGC recognised University/ Institute. An eminent scholar having a Ph.D. degree in any one of the following subjects: Geography/ Geology /Geoinformatics/ Geomatics/ Geospatial Science. Published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of publication in peer reviewed journals. A minimum of 10 years of teaching experience in university/college as Assistant or Associate Professor, and/or research experience at equivalent level at the University/National Level institutions with evidence of supervising research students.

f) BA/BSc in Psychology (Hons.). MA/MSc in Psychology from a UGC recognised University/ Institute. An eminent scholar having a Ph.D. degree in Psychology. Published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of publication in peer reviewed journals. A minimum of 10 years of teaching experience in university/college as Assistant or Associate Professor, and/or research experience at equivalent level at the University/National Level institutions with evidence of supervising research students.

g) M.A in any branch of Humanities from a UGC recognised University/ Institute. An eminent scholar having a Ph.D. degree in Women’s Studies. Published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of publication in peer reviewed journals. A minimum of 10 years of teaching experience in university/college as Assistant or Associate Professor, and/or research experience at equivalent level at the University/National Level institutions with evidence of supervising research students.

5. Desirable: 

a) Research Experience in Human Genetics/Molecular Biology, A short research proposal outlining future plans to build up this emerging Department and outreach activity.

b) Post-doctoral Research Experience and Administrative experience.  A short research proposal outlining future plans to build up this emerging Department and outreach activity.

c) Post-doctoral Research Experience and Administrative experience. A short research proposal outlining future plans to build up this emerging Department and outreach activity.

d) Research supervision, High quality research works/publications, Experience in running Sponsored Research Projects. Post-doctoral Research Experience and Administrative experience. A short research proposal outlining future plans to build up this emerging Department and outreach activity.

e) Working knowledge of at least 5 years in Remote Sensing and GIS software. (Publications/Post-Doctoral Research experience). Post-doctoral Research Experience and Administrative experience. A short research proposal outlining future plans to build up this emerging Department and outreach activity.

f) Post-Doctoral Research experience. A short research proposal outlining future plans to build up this emerging Department and outreach activity.

1. Downloaded form shall accompany with a Crossed Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Finance Officer, the University of Burdwan or a cash challan of the University cash counter of requisite price for the following posts.

2. Completed application (with API, wherever applicable) in the prescribed form along with photocopies of seven sets of all credentials must reach the office of the Registrar by 01.03.2021 to be submitted either by hand or through Post Office/Courier (through proper channel, in case of already employed candidates). No application will be accepted after 01.03.2021 (05:30 p.m.). Applicants must have the minimum qualifications and experiences as per relevant latest recruitment guidelines and Memorandum of Government of West Bengal

3. No TA/DA is admissible for attending the interview. It should be noted that possession of minimum eligibility shall not confer any right to be called for interview. Incomplete applications/ non submission of draft for price of form will be rejected. Selection shall not be confined to those who will apply formally.
