General Instructions:

a. Instruction Sheet I (General Instructions) – can be downloaded from the website of the University – http://faculty.cusat.ac.in or www.cusat.ac.in.

b. A working e-mail id of the candidate shall be given in the application: All communications in connection with the recruitment will be sent to the registered e-mail id only and hence the candidates are directed to check their e-mail periodically.

c. Separate applications with prescribed fees, should be submitted for each post having separate serial number. 

d. Qualifications and Experience: Information Sheet II containing details of qualifications prescribed for the posts can be downloaded from the website of the University, www.cusat.ac.in/faculty.cusat.ac.in.

e. Age: As on 01.01.2020 – Not more than 40 years for applying for the post of Assistant Professor. Age limit prescribed will be relaxed in the case of SC/ST and OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates by 5 years and 3 years respectively

f. Maximum age for considering against State Government / State Government (Quasi) vacancies is limited to 50 years.

g. Any corrigendum/addendum shall be posted only on the University website.

h. The applicants should possess the minimum qualifications as on the last date for submission of application (online), failing which the application will summarily be rejected. 

i. Shortlisting of candidates will be based on the credentials as on the last date of application (online submission). Publications, conference etc after the last date will not be considered in any case.

General Conditions:

i. The appointment against the above vacancies will be made as per UGC/ AICTE Regulations and Reservation Principles according to Cochin University of Science and Technology Act, 1986 and Statutes thereunder and as per the provisions in the Kerala State & Subordinate Service Rules, 1958, and Kerala Service rules, as amended from time to time. 

ii. The natives of States other than Kerala shall not apply for the posts notified exclusively under community reservation quota (SC/ST/Other Backward Communities/EWS/Differently abled) as per the provisions in the Kerala State & Subordinate Service Rules, 1958, as amended from time to time 

iii. Only persons having minimum 40% disability shall be eligible for reservation / concessions set apart for the Persons with Disability (PwD).The Person availing the reservation for Persons with Disabilities shall invariably submit a Disability Certificate issued by a Medical Board duly constituted by the State / Central Government.

iv. A relaxation of 5% shall be allowed at the Bachelor’s as well as the Master’s Level for the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Other Backward Classes (OBC) (Non-Creamy Layer) / Differently-abled for the purpose of eligibility and assessing good academic record for direct recruitment. The eligibility marks of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever the grading System is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible, based only on qualifying marks without including any grace mark procedure. A relaxation of 5% shall be provided (from 55% to 50% of the marks) to the Ph.D Degree holders who have obtained their Master’s Degree prior to 19 September, 1991.

Selection Procedure

Shortlisting of candidates will be based on the credentials as on the last date of application (online submission). Publications, conference etc after the last date will not be considered in any case.

Apply Procedure

1. Applications to the above posts have to be submitted online in the prescribed application form available in the University Website: www.cusat.ac.in/faculty.cusat.ac.in.

2. Separate applications with prescribed fees, should be submitted for each post having separate serial number. 

3. Candidates who have passed their qualifying examination from Universities outside Kerala shall attach the Recognition Certificate issued by Cochin University of Science & Technology along with their application. If they are not able to submit the same along with online/hard copy of the application form, they shall attach the copy of the fee receipt of the same as proof. How ever, they shall produce the same at the time of interview. 

4. Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination from Universities abroad can submit Equivalency Certificate issued by the Association of Indian Universities, AIYU House, 16 Comrade Indrajit Gupta Marg, New Delhi – 2 (Equivalence Division).

4. Candidates should apply online on or before 18.01.2021. 

5. Candidates shall compulsorily submit Part A and Part B of the application form (Online).

6. One signed hard copy of the filled up online applications (Part A & Part B) along with Registration Fee and copies of documents to prove age, valid community certificate (for SC/ST) / Non-Creamy Layer Certificate (for OBC), EWS Certificate (as per Government of Kerala norms for EWS candidates) qualifications, marklists, percentage of marks, experience, copies / reprints of publication (if any) with proof of impact factor etc. should reach "The Registrar, Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kochi – 682 022" before 5.00 PM on 25.01.2021. Candidates who have applied online but failed to submit the
hard copies of the application in time will not be considered for selection. 

7. Candidates who are employed on regular basis in Government/Quasi Government/State/Central Autonomous Organization should forward their applications through proper channel with No Objection Certificate. However they can send an advance copy to the Registrar directly. 

8. Late, Defective and incomplete applications will be summarily rejected.
