The JSW School of Public Policy (JSW-SPP) at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) is a centre of excellence in the making. Set up with support from the JSW Group, it seeks to make a distinctive contribution to knowledge about public policy through cutting-edge research on the emerging Indian experience of policy formulation and design, policy choice, and policy impact, and through its educational programs. The JSW School of Public Policy (JSW-SPP) is looking for a candidate at a Vice President / Associate Vice President level who will set up the management systems, program execution and brand development, and provide overall administrative leadership to the newly established JSW School of Public Policy.
1. Name of the Post: Vice President/Associate Vice President
2. Salary & Allowances: The incumbent will be offered a three-year contract, on a consolidated monthly salary in CTC mode. Compensation would be attractive for the right candidate. The contract may be extended further at the end of the three years, if the performance is found satisfactory
3. Qualification, Experience & Skill Requirements:
a) Postgraduate degree in any discipline, but preferably in management, public policy or public administration from a reputed institution. Additional, but not required, qualifications may be advanced degrees or diplomas in human resource development or administration.
b) A minimum of 10 to 15 years of professional experience with demonstrable evidence of exceptional performance and fit with the current position.
c) Excellent networking and communication skills. Business development, fundraising, and the ability to build relationships with senior policy makers and policy professionals.
4. Job Description: The Vice President / Associate Vice President shall report to the Chairperson, JSW School of Public Policy. Some of the responsibilities of the position include:
a. Develop management systems, administrative structures and processes for JSW-SPP that are in consonance with IIMA policies.
b. Provide logistical support to IIMA faculty members and help generate high impact intellectual capital through research projects.
c. Develop support systems to help IIMA faculty members create teaching and training material like cases, policy briefs, simulations, multi-media training material, etc.
d. Work closely with IIMA administration to conceptualize and manage short-term teaching and executive education programs in public policy.
e. Work with key actors in the public policy space, including think tanks, foundations, policy consulting firms, and top-level policy makers in government to develop avenues for research, training, and advisory engagement for IIMA faculty members.
f. Conceptualize and organize events like international and national conferences, workshops, symposia, and panels involving academics, professionals, and policymakers to disseminate JSW-SPP research, teaching, and advisory activities.
g. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in government, industry and academic partner institutions.
h. Manage public relations and outreach through the website and social media activities of JSW-SPP.
