Qualification in Details:

1. Position: Head – Alumni Relations

2. No. of Positions: One

3. Education and Experience:

a) Candidate should be a First-Class Graduate with a Post graduate Degree/MBA from a reputed Institution.

b) Candidate should a minimum of 22 years of in handling the assignments listed under major duties & responsibilities. Candidates in the last 5 years should have been in a leadership position in a large organization in handling the assignments listed under major duties & responsibilities.

c) Fluency in English, Hindi; ability to communicate in Kannada would be an added advantage.

4. Compensation:

a) The candidate will be paid with a minimum basic of Rs. 1,23,100 per month, plus applicable DA (currently at 31% of Basic), HRA of 23% (on Basic), NPS employer contribution of 14% (on Basic and DA), outpatient medical reimbursement up to 30,000 per annum, medical insurance cover of Rs. 5,00,000 for self, spouse and 2 dependent children and other applicable benefits as per IIMB contract appointment norms.

c) Head – Alumni Relations will report to Dean – Alumni Relations & Development

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

1. To plan and promote alumni related programs and activities in sync with Institute’s vision

2. To establish and maintain relationships with alumni on an ongoing basis

3. To work closely with the IIMB Alumni Association (IIMBAA) and provide support for all the activities of IIMBAA

4. To focus on drive effective communication engagement will all alumni through periodic Alumni Meetings, timely release of newsletters, updates on websites

5. To address the needs of the alumni body as and when required

6. To lead the successful implementation of various alumni engagement programs as per timelines and budgets

7. To drive the department, perform people responsibilities and provide required guidance and support to alumni relations team.

8. To co-develop products with development team and build consensus amongst diverse internal stakeholders on “go to market” initiatives of the Alumni Relations & Development team.

9. To co-develop with the development team and execute marketing initiatives and identify new business opportunities through alumni network resulting to fund raising at IIMB

10. To work with the development team to manage and support full life cycle of Alumni donations - background research, prospecting, relationship building, proposal writing, obtaining commitment and collection

11. To set up meetings and engagement with Alumni in senior industry/academic roles with Director and Dean Alumni Relations & Development on a regular basis

12. To ensure the deliverables for the Alumni Relations department such as conducting research, data analysis, database development and management are periodically carried out.

13. Educate and clarify internal customers on matters related to the Alumni Relations function processes, systems, and controls.

14. Develop and Implement MIS for the Alumni Relations function of the Institute

15. Review the performance of the team members, give feedback, identity the learning needs and develop the capabilities of the team. To perform people responsibilities for Alumni Relations function

16. Any other additional work assigned related to the above from time to time

Key Skills / Abilities/Knowledge Required:

1. Strong Analytical, Planning and Marketing scanning and Market Sensing skills. Should be detail oriented and have the ability to manage stakeholder relationships

2. Possess excellent interpersonal and networking skills and have a solution orientation mindset. Strong people person, the incumbent would work closely with stakeholders.

3. Be self-motivated and able to work independently, with a strong sense of urgency regarding timely follow up and customer service orientation with internal clients.

4. Ability to identify and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and have leadership ability to work effectively with all relevant stakeholders

5. Proficiency in MS Office software, e-mail, electronic scheduling, databases and internet and ERP. Should have experience in database navigation

6. Communication skills - oral and written. Ability to effectively communicate across levels of managers and senior leadership in a professional and effective manner.

7. Negotiation skills- Ability to negotiate well with various stakeholders

8. Strong commitment to service and capacity to collaborate and communicate with diverse communities – faculty, non-academic staff, industry, and government stakeholders whom Alumni team interact with.

9. Ability to prioritize work opportunities and effectively manage the same with limited supervision
