Qualification in Details:
Indian Institute of Technology, Gandhinagar (IITGN) invites applications for a contractual post for its Institute Management System (IMS) as mentioned below:
1.Position: Software (PHP) Developer
2.Opening(s): One
3.Minimum Qualification & Experience: B.Tech/ B.E. in Computer Science & Engineering (regular)/Information Technology (regular)/MCA/ MSc (IT) with minimum 65% marks and at least two years of work experience.
4.Monthly consolidated pay: Rs. 30,000 – 60,000/- p.m.
5.Tenure: Two Years, extendible commensurate upon performance and evaluation after 1 year.
6. Required hands-on experience in:
a. Apache 2 & above, PHP 5 & above (including PHP libraries), HTML 5, CSS3, Windows & Web Services, Remoting, OOPS. Linux system. RDBMS . Integration of multiple data sources and databases into one system . Understanding accessibility and security compliance . Javascript, JQuery, JQuery Widgets, MySQL. Developing cross-browser frontends using XHTML, CSS, bootstrap, AJAX, JSON, JavaScript and on 3rd party API integration, payment gateways.
b. Knowledge of Moodle CMS is must. Deployment via GIT/SVN & SSH terminal. Juggling multiple assignments. Skills of debugging
7. With knowledge and/or exposure of:
a. Defect tracking systems and test management tools. PHP Frameworks like Laravel, codeigniter etc.. CMS like wordpress , drupal, etc. (will be an added advantage). Knowledge of database access management like mongoDB (Additional knowledge of MSSQL). Knowledge of JS frameworks like angularJS, nodejs, reactjs
b. Knowledge of LDAP. Industry standard ERP & workflow package (will be an added advantage). Flowchart & ERD
8. You will be expected to:
a. Understand and analyse functional and non-functional system requirements. Ensure defect-free release in the production environment. Serve as SME for software development process. Work with cross-functional teams to help identify, triage, and document issues. Installation, Configuration and maintenance of Linux and Windows based server. Managing All Critical Applications Onsite/Offsite Backup through Bash/Shell scripting
b. Monitoring of Daily scheduled backup activity and ensuring backup has been taken for all critical applications. Restoration of backup when needed. Minimise database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses. Design, develop, test, support and deploy desktop and custom web applications. Research and evaluate software related technologies and products. Create software documentation and update existing documentation. Design, develop and implement critical applications in a .Net environment.
c. Assist and support other team members on multiple projects. Implement best practices, standards and procedures including quality and delivery methodologies. Handle common database procedures, such as upgrade, backup, recovery, migration, etc. Profile server resource usage, optimize and tweak as necessary. Ensure performance, security, and availability of database systems.
d. Performance tuning/Query Optimisation of database systems. Install, upgrade, and manage database applications and diagnose/troubleshoot errors. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation and collaboration skills.

General Conditions and Instructions
1. Candidates must be ready to relocate anywhere in India at specified location/office decided by IITGandhinagar
2. Relaxation of age and/or educational qualifications will be considered in case of exceptionally meritorious candidates, with prior approval of IIT Gandhinagar.
3. If eligible, candidates may apply in multiple positions and must submit separate applications for each position.
4. The candidate is liable to be rejected at any stage of the recruitment process or after recruitment or joining if any information provided by the candidate is false or is not found to be in conformity with eligibility criteria mentioned in the advertisement.

8. IITGN reserves the right to cancel/restrict/enlarge/modify/alter the recruitment process, if needed, without issuing any further notice or assigning any reason whatsoever.
9. IITGN reserves the right not to select any candidate for the post(s).

Selection Procedure
1. Eligible candidates shortlisted based on the submitted online application will have to appear for the selection process conducted at IITGN premises.
2. The selection process may comprise a written test followed by a personal interview. IITGN reserves all the rights, not to call an applicant for an interview, without assigning any reason.
3. The decision of the selection committee formed by IITGN is final and binding to all. No queries related to the same shall be entertained.
