Applicants are invited for interview for the following posts purely on a temporary basis in SWABHIMAAN Project.

The project is a collaborative project of Nutrition Division of UNICEF India and the National Rural Livelihood Mission of Ministry of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (MoRD & PR). In order to assess the improvement of nutritional indicators under SWABHIMAAN intervention program, UNICEF New Delhi entrusted IIPS to carry out the endine impact evaluation in these states.

IIPS has also partnered with UNICEF to analyse NFHS-4 data to better understand wasting in India. As part of this initiative, an initial analysis of NFHS-4 data has been undertaken to answer specific questions related to status and trends of wasting in India. It is now proposed that a report on the findings of this analysis would be prepared and submitted to MoHFW and further analysis would be undertaken as per further recommendations.

1. Position: Junior Project Manager (2 Positions)

2. Qualifications Essentials:

i. Ph.D. degree in Population Sciences/Social Sciences or MPhil Degree in Population Studies/Social Sciences with 2 years of work experience in the related domain
ii. One publication in Journal of repute
iii. Experience in conducting surveys on nutrition, health.
iv. High level of proficiency in at least one statistical package ( SPSS/STATA/SAS), other data management packages and software (like, CS Pro), Excel, Access and Power point.
v. Experience of working in the intervention project

3. Desirables: 

i. Experience in qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis
ii. Experience in working with SHGs and marginalized groups.
iii. Good Planning and coordination skills.
iv. Good training, communication and writing skills.
v. Ability to work with a diverse group and settings.
vi. Proficiency in Oriya language and Hindi language

4. Salary: Rs.70,000 – Rs.80,000/- Per Month (Consolidated) as per qualification/experience.

5. Roles & Responsibilities: Under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator of base and in link with the Co-Principal Investigators,

Junior Project Manager is responsible for :

a. Timely execution of survey including field work, data processing. 
b. Developing indicators, related targets, methods, reporting formats and procedures.
c. Compilation and analysis of survey data.
d,. Assisting Project Manager and responsible for overall coordination & monitoring of the activities of project
e. Undertaking extensive travel across the states and prepare to handle work under pressure.
f. Oral and written reporting to Principal Investigator or Co-Principal Investigators at IIPS.
g. Undertake other responsibilities of the project assigned by Project manager and Principle Investigators and Co-Principle Investigators.

6. Major Tasks to be accomplished:

i. Conducting endline evaluation (mapping & listing and main survey) in two states (Bihar, and Odisha)
ii. Documentation of the process and outcomes of the endline evaluation survey in two states (Bihar and Odisha)
iii. Supporting biannual TAG/Partners meetings
iv. Conceptualizing, analysis and writing a paper for publication under supervision of Principal Investigator and Co-Principal Investigators

7. All posts are purely temporary for a fixed tenure project based positions. Temporary appointment shall terminate with completion of the project or the period of appointment, whichever is the earlier. The job location will be Mumbai with extensive travel to project areas in both the states.

8. The initial appointment may be for three months extendable on satisfactory discharge of assigned responsibilities to the project staff. Educational Qualification or working experience may be relaxed in deserving cases.
