Qualification in Details:

Online applications are invited from eligible candidates for the following posts on Direct Recruitment basis. Selected candidate will be required to work at the Institute for Plasma Research, Gandhinagar or FCIVP. However, services of the candidate may be transferred to other Centres of the Institute depending upon future requirements.

Each Candidate should submit only a SINGLE application for Scientific Officer - D/ Scientific Officer-E. Based on his/ her age. qualification. experience and performance in the interview. he/she will be considered for a suitable post.

a) Scientific officer - D.

1. Essential Qualification/ Experience Ph.D. in Physics or Engineering, in area related to Plasma Science Technolow. AND Either an M.Sc. in Physics (wi minimum 60% marks) or B.Tech./B.E. in Electrical/ Mechanical/ Electronics/ Chemical Engineering (with minimu 60% marks). AND Publications in reputed international refereed journals during PhD.

2. Pay Level: Level 11 of Pay Matrix (7th CPC) at starting Basic Pay of 67700 /-.

3. Desirable Qualification: (Research Experience) (A) Ph.D. thesis work should include an one or more of the following areas: (A-I) Design and/or Operation of plasma based experimental systems such Filamentary discharge, Glow Discharge, RF Discharge Plasma, Thermal Plasma, High enerU pulsed power driven plasma, tokamak/stellarator, etc., including their ressure mechanical vacuum high pressure/ mechanical. subsystems. Hands on experience development/ use of one or more plasma diagnostics such as electric probe, magnetic probe, spectroscopy, laser optics, interferometry, etc. (A-2) Design and development Of technologies used for plasma experiments such as RF or NBI heating systems, high ultra- voltage power supplies, vacuum systems, etc. (A-3) i) Plasma Theory ii) Plasma modelling and simulation iii) Computational plasma science iv) Fusion theory or any other areas of recent advancement in Plasma Science & Technology.

4.Essential Research: Publications Minimum two first-authored research papers published or accepted for publications in reputed international journals during Ph.D. period (UGC recognized journals).

5. Job Description:The selected candidates will assist, conduct and plan research work at IPR in the areas of Plasma/ Fusion Science & (Experiments / Theory) or in any other areas of recent advancements related to Plasma Science & Technolcw.

6.  Research Proposal : Candidate should also submit a research roposal for a 3-year period within 1000 rds on any of the areas mentioned at Sr.No.5. The proposal should include a ef objective, motivation, resources needed, work plan & time schedule, eliverables, and funds required.

7.  Letters of recommendation : letters of recon-rmendation from cientists who are familiar with the work f the candidate should be sent at the mail: [email protected] . One of the ferees must be the PhD Guide of the andidate.

b) Scientific officer - E.

1. Essential Qualification/ Experience:a) Ph.D. in Physics or Engineering, an area related to Plasma Science Techn0104,' AND b) Either an M.Sc. in Physics (wi minimum 60% marks) B.Tech./B.E. Electrical/ Mechanical/ Electronics / (wi Engineering Chemical minimum 60% marks). AND reputed c) Publications international refereed journals during Ph.D. AND d) Minimum four year post-Ph.D. research experience in the field of Plasma Science & Technolow.

2. Pay Level: Level 12 of Pay Matrix (7th CPC) at tartin Basic Pay of 78800/ -

3. Desirable Qualification: (A) Ph.D. thesis work should include an one or more of the following areas: (A- 1) Design and/or Operation of plasm based experimental systems such Filamentary discharge, Glow Discharge, RF Discharge Plasma, Thermal Plasma, High pulsed power drive plasma, tokamak/ stellarator, etc. vacuum hi their including their vaccum high pressure/ mechanical subsystems. Hands on experience in use of one o more plasma diagnostics such a electric probe, magnetic laser spectroscopy, interferometry, etc. probe, optics, (A-2) Design and development o used for plasm technologies experiments such as RF or NBI hea systems, high voltage power supplies ultra-high vacuum systems, etc. (A-3) i) Plasma Theory ii) Plasma modelling and simulation iii) Computational plasma science iv) Fusion theory or any other areas Of recent advancement in Plasma Science & Technology (B) At least one-year Post-Doctoral research experience in areas relevant to Fusion Science & such as Plasma Surface Interaction/ Plasma Mater Interaction/ Charged particle Beams generation, acceleration/ Neutronics/Neutron Generation etc. with adequate knowledge in different plasma diagnostics.

4.Essential Research: i) Minimum two first-authored research papers published or accepted for publications in reputed international journals during Ph.D. period (UGC recognized journals). AND ii) At least two publications in reputed international journal during post- Ph.D. research activities.

5. Job Description:The selected candidates will assist, conduct and plan research work at IPR in the areas of Plasma/ Fusion Science & (Experiments/ Theory) or in any other areas of recent advancements related to Plasma Science & Technology.

6.  Research Proposal : Candidate should also submit a search proposal for a 3-year period within 1000 words on any of the areas entioned at Sr. No.5. The proposal hould include a brief objective, otivation, resources needed, work plan time schedule, deliverables, and funds required.

7.  Letters of recommendation : Three letters of recommendation from scientists who are familiar with the work of the candidate should be sent at the mail: reco-sode(Qipr.res.in .

General Information:

1. Only Indian Nationals need to apply. The numbers of vacancies indicated above are provisional and may be increased or decreased depending on the actual requirement of the institute. Persons with disabilities can also be selected on their own merit against the unreserved quota.

2. Before filling up the Online Recruitment Application, the candidates must go through the detailed Advertisement. Please proceed to fill the online application only if you are satisfied that you possess the minimum Essential Qualifications stipulated for the post, otherwise, submitted application(s) shall be rejected outright.

3. The date for determining the eligibility of all the candidates in every respect shall be the prescribed closing date for submission of Online Application, unless specified otherwise.

4. 7. All the qualifications must be from recognized Indian Universities / Boards / Institutions only. Applicants having qualifications from any other countries shall upload equivalency certificate from UGC/AIU. The following certificate/ documents are acceptable only as proof of Age (Any one): Date of Birth as recorded in the Birth Certificate.

8. Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC). Matriculation / Secondary School Certificate in which date of birth is mentioned. Internal candidates (Permanent employees) of the Institute (IPR/CPP-IPR) shall be eligible for relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit. Candidate seeking age relaxation under any other category (SC/ ST/ OBC) shall not be eligible for age relaxation as internal candidate.

9. Candidates employed in Govt. / Aided/Autonomous/Quasi Govt. / Public Sector Undertakings should upload NOC from his/her organizations/institutes with online application or bring NOC if called for Interview. The Institute reserves the right to reject any application without assigning any reason. Incomplete applications are liable to be summarily rejected.

10. No interim correspondence will be entertained. Third AC to and fro Rail/ State Transport bus fare by direct and shortest route will be reimbursed to outstation candidates who are called for Interview on production of ticket or proof of journey such as Railway / Bus ticket or ticket number.

11. In addition to pay and allowances, HRA, Transport allowance, Medical Scheme facility under its Contributory Health Service Scheme and subsidized Canteen facilities are admissible for the above posts. Perquisites like Performance Related Incentive Scheme (PRIS), New Pension Scheme, LTC, and Children Education Allowance for school going children and free transport in lieu Of Transport Allowance are admissible as per Institute's rules and government orders as amended from time to time. Experience shall be counted only after the date of possessing the essential educational qualifications.

Any dispute arising out of this advertisement shall be subject to the sole jurisdiction of the Courts/ Tribunals situated at Gandhinagar, Gujarat only.

15. IPR reserves the right to not select any candidate for above post or cancel the advertisement at any stage without assigning any reason. Records of the candidates not selected shall be preserved only for a period of one year from the date of publication of the list of selected candidates.

Selection Procedure

The applications received in response to the advertisement shall be scrutinized and only candidates shortlisted from valid applications on the basis of criteria like age, educational qualification, experience etc. shall be called for Interview. The interview for shortlisted candidates will be conducted either in- person at IPR or online by Video Conferencing. The authorities reserve all rights, not to call an applicant for Interview, without assigning any reason.

i) The prescribed Essential Qualifications are the minimum and the mere possession of the same does not entitle candidates to be called for interview. The Candidate Should, Therefore, Mention All Of Her/his Qualifications And Experience In The Relevant Fields Over And Above The Minimum Qualifications.For example, if experience is not essential for the post but an applicant possesses experience, he/she is advised to fill it in relevant field. Only those educational qualifications and experience, etc., will be considered for scrutiny / short-listing which are explicitly claimed in the online application.

ii) In the event of number of applications being large, Institute will adopt short listing criteria to restrict the number of candidates to be called for interview to a reasonable number by one or more of the following methods in the given sequence:On the basis of higher experience in the relevant field than the minimum prescribed in the advertisement. Here, experience will be counted only after completion of the essential educational qualification. On the basis of experience before as well as after the acquisition of essential qualifications. On the basis of Desirable Qualification (DQ) or any one or all of the DQs if more than one DQ iS prescribed. On the basis of higher educational qualifications than the minimum prescribed in the advertisement. By holding a Written Test.
