Post Name: Lecturers/Teaching Assistant
For Lecturer
Eligibility (A or B):
A. I. Good Academic record as defined by the concerned University with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master’s Degree level in concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign University.
II. A relaxation of 5% may be provided at the graduate and master’s level for the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/ Differently-abled (physically and visually differently-abled) categories for the purpose of eligibility and for assessing good academic record during direct recruitment to teaching positions. The eligibility of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in appoint scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories motioned above are permissible, based on only the qualifying marks without including any grace marks procedures.
III. A relaxation of 5% may be provided, from 55% to 50% of the marks to the Ph.D. Degree holders, who have obtained their Master’s Degree prior to 19 September, 1991.
IV. The National Eligibility Test (NET) or an accredited test (State Level Eligibility Test SLET/SET) shall remain the minimum eligibility for appointment of Assistant Professor and equivalent positions wherever provided in these Regulations. Further, SLET/SET shall be valid as the minimum eligibility for direct recruitment to Universities/Colleges/Institutions in the respective state only:
V. Provided that candidates who have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulation, 2009, or the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil/Ph.D. Degree) Regulation,2016, and their subsequent amendments from time to time, as the case may be, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or any equivalent position in any University, College or Institution.
VI. Provided further that the award of degree to candidates registered for the M.Phil/Ph.D. programme prior to July 11, 2009, shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances / Bye-laws / Regulations of the Institutions awarding the degree. All such Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions subject to the fulfillment of the following conditions:
a) The Ph.D. degree of the candidate has been awarded in regular mode only;
b) The Ph.D. thesis has been awarded by at least two external examiners;
c) An open Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate has been conducted;
d) The candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work out of which at least one is in a referred journal;
e) The candidate has presented at least two papers, based on his/her Ph.D. work in conferences/seminars sponsored/funded/supported by the UGC/ ICSSR/CSIR or any similar agency
The fulfillment of these conditions is to be certified by the Registrar or the Dean (Academic Affairs) of the University concerned. The clearing of NET/SLET/SET shall not be required for candidates in such disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET has not been conducted. OR B. The Ph.D degree has been obtained from a foreign university/institution with a ranking among top 500 in the World University Ranking (at any time) by any one of the following: (i) Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) (ii) the Times Higher Education (THE) or (iii) the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Shanghai). In Biotechnology, preference shall be given to the candidates with M.Sc in Biotechnology.
For Lecturer/Teaching Assistant in Life Science in Bhaderwah Campus:
i. Good academic record as defined by the concerned university with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master’s Degree level in Environmental Sciences/Botany/Zoology from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign University.
ii. NET/SET shall remain the minimum eligibility condition for recruitment and appointment of Lecturers in Universities/Colleges/Institutions. Provided, however, that the candidates, who are or have been awarded Ph.D. Degree in compliance of the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/ Institutions.
For Yoga:
i. Good academic record as defined by the concerned university with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master’s Degree level in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
ii. NET/SET/SLET shall remain the minimum eligibility condition for recruitment and appointment of Lecturers in Universities/Colleges/Institutions.
Provided, however, that candidates, who are or have been awarded Ph.D. degree in compliance of the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SET/SLET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/ Institutions.
Further, the award of degrees to candidates registered for the M.Phil/Ph.D. programme prior to July11, 2009, shall be governed by the provision of the then existing ordinances/By Laws/Regulations of the Institution awarding the degrees and the Ph.D. Candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility conditions of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in University/Colleges/Institutions subject to submission of MSP certificate issued by the competent authorities of the concerned University.
For Lecturer: BE/B.Tech & ME/M.Tech. in relevant branch with 1st class or equivalent either in BE/B.Tech or ME/M.Tech

All such Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions subject to the fulfillment of the following conditions:

Note
1. However, candidates seeking exemption from NET/SLET/SET are required to produce a bona-fide certificate from the concerned University(s) to the effect that the said candidate has been awarded PhD. Degree in conformity with the UGC Regulations i.e. all the conditions laid down in University Grants Commission (minimum standards and procedure for Award of PhD. Degree) Regulations, 2009 are fulfilled by them at the time of submitting their PhD, thesis).
2. In case the eligible candidates possessing NET/SET/Ph.D. are not available/suitable, the candidates having Master’s degree with 55% may also be considered as Teaching Assistants. Their salary shall be as per University norms.
3. The University reserves the right not to fill any of the vacancies advertised, if circumstances so warrant, without assigning any reason thereof.
