Selection Procedure

1. The Jharkhand Combined Civil Services Examination comprises of two successive stages:

(a) Combined Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination (Objective Type) for the selection of candidates for the Main Examination; and

(b) Combined Civil Services (Main) Examination (Written and Interview) for the selection of candidates for the various services and posts.

2. Preliminary Examination: The examination shall comprise of two compulsory papers of 200 marks each, namely, General Studies — I and General Studies —II

3. All questions of compulsory papers will be of objective type (Multiple Choice Question) and each paper will be of 2 hours duration.

4. The question papers will be set both in Hindi and English Selection list for the Main Examination shall be prepared on the basis of total marks obtained in both the papers.

5. However, the minimum qualifying marks will be as prescribed under Rule 17 of The Jharkhand Combined Civil Services Examination Rules, 2021

6. The number of candidates to be admitted to the Main (Written) Examination will be approximately 15 (fifteen) times the total number of vacancies to be filled in the year oi the various services and posts.

7. Only those candidates who are declared by the Commission to have qualified in the Preliminary Examination in a year will be eligible for admission to the Main (Written) Examination,

8. The adequate number of candidates to be admitted to the Main Examination will be approximately 15 (fifteen) times the total number of advertised vacancies to be tilled in the year of the various Services and posts provided they are otherwise eligible but in the said range all those candidates irrespective of category who secure the sajne percentage of marks as may be fixed by the Commission for any' lowest range will be admitted to the main examination.
