Qualification in Details:
Name of the Division: Polymer Science & Engineering. Sub: Filling up of position for engagement as Project Associate-II under a sponsored project taken up in the Lab. Applications are invited in the prescribed proforma for filling up of positions of Project Associate-II on a purely temporary basis. The details of the Sponsored Project under which engagement is proposed to be made are as under:
1. Project Code No. : MLP102126
2. Title of the Project: CSIR lnitiative on recycling of COVID-19 plastic waste from Testing Facility
3. Job Title: Project Associate II
4. Minimum prescribed educational Qualifications/experience: Bachelor’s degree in Polymer Engineering/ Chemical Engineering/ Materials Science and Engineering or equivalent with 2 years of experience in R&D at academic institutions or Science and Technology Organizations OR M.Tech. in Polymer/ Chemical / Materials Science or equivalent degree
5. Preference/Desirable Exp., if any: The candidate must have knowledge and preferably some experience of characterizing polymeric materials using spectroscopic and thermal techniques. Knowledge about handling polymer biomedical waste, biomaterial contamination, cleaning of biomedical waste would also be helpful.
6. Job requirement: The candidate is expected to independently plan and perform experiments. The candidate must also plot and analyze the data generated
7. Consolidated emoluments per month: Rs. 31000
8. No. of positions to be filled up: 01
9. Age limit as shown above is relaxable by 5 years for statutory groups and women candidates
10. The engagement will be initially for a period of six months which may be extended or curtailed depending on the duration of the tenure of sponsored project/ satisfactory performance or conduct of the appointee, as the case may be. The engagement will be purely on temporary basis and shall not be CSIR/NCL appointment, temporary or otherwise and shall not entitle the appointee to any right/claim whatsoever, implicit or explicit, for his/her consideration against any CSIR/NCL post/fellowship

Selection Procedure
1. The prescribed educational qualifications are a bare minimum and merely possessing of same will not entitle candidates to be called for interview. Where number of applications received in response to this Notice of engagement is large, it may not be convenient or possible to interview all the candidates.
2. Based on the recommendation of the Screening Committee, the Project Leader may restrict the number of candidates to be called for interview to reasonable limits after taking into consideration qualifications and experience over and above the minimum qualifications prescribed in the Notice. Therefore, it will be in the interest of the candidates, to mention all the qualifications and experience in the relevant field at the time of applying.
3. The list of the candidates short listed by the Screening Committee for being interviewed would be updated online on January 21, 2021. The candidates may also ascertain the information after January 21, 2021 via email to [email protected],
4. The interview will be conducted on January 28th, 2021 from 10:30 AM onwards in an online mode through a suitable medium such as Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Cisco Webex, etc. The meeting link will be provided only to the shortlisted candidates.
5. No TA/DA will be admissible for appearing for the interview. The candidates recommended by the interview committee will have to join the duty immediately on receipt of the offer of engagement.
