Applications are invited for a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position in the Department of Civil Engineering, NIT Manipur under the DST - SERB sponsored project titled “Computational Fluid Dynamics Modeling for Optimization of Sedimentation Tank”. The overall objective of the project is to numerically investigate the flow behaviour as well as numerical models for optimizing the sedimentation tank used in water treatment plants.

4. Essential qualifications:
i. M.Tech/ME in Civil/Chemical Engineering Or, Master's degree in Environmental Science or any other related field with GATE or CSIR UGC NET qualified score Or,
ii. B.Tech/BE in Civil/Chemical Engineering or related technical field with GATE or CSIR UGC NET qualified score Candidates must have obtained at least 60% marks (or 6.5 CGPA) (55% marks or 6.0 CGPA for SC/ST) in their Bachelor’s & Master's degree.
iii. Deserving candidates will be considered for PhD admissions at a later stage if they meet all the institute requirements
5. Desirable qualifications: Civil Engineering background with Water Resources/ Environmental background. Knowledge in numerical simulation with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Techniques.
6. Consolidated monthly compensation/Fellowship: Rs. 31,000/- month for first 02 years with 8% HRA and Rs. 35,000/- month for the third year with 8% HRA.
7. Duration: Initial appointment is for one year, which is extendable upto 3 years solely based on the performance.

1. A one-page cover letter describing the background and how it will help to pursue this project.
2. If selected, candidate must report immediately to project PI and physically join within one week from the declaration of result. No further communication will be entertained.
3. Original documents of age proof/certificates/degrees/mark-sheets and other testimonials must be presented at the time of interview (may not be applicable for Skype/Google Meet based interview)
4. The position is purely temporary and renewable each year subject to satisfactory performance for a maximum of three (03) years
5. No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview
