Category No.: I

  1. Name of the Post : Technical Officer/C (Electrical)
  2. Number of Posts : 03
  3. Qualification : B.E./B.Tech. in Electrical discipline with ≥60% marks or equivalent CGPA from a recognized University.
  4. Desirable : Knowledge of different high voltage high current semi-conductor switches and their applications for development of compact high voltage power supplies; knowledge of basic governing mathematical equations involved in the functioning of a high voltage pulse power system, different types of capacitors & high voltage spark gap switches and their applications; knowledge of high current and high voltage pulse generation and measurement techniques.
  5. Nature of duties : Development of High voltage power electronics system and Pulse Power systems

  4. Desirable : Experience of working in component and system design tools (3D); knowledge of material properties for different insulating materials. Nature of duties : Design, fabrication and assembly of mechanical components having high accuracy.

  3. Qualification : M.Sc in Physics with ≥60% marks or equivalent CGPA from a recognized University.
  4. Desirable : Physics with Statistics and Mathematics background; knowledge in LASERs and LASER applications, semi conductors, spectroscopy techniques, computers etc.; knowledge of equation of state modelling and design of experiment in the field of high energy density physics.

GENERAL CONDITIONS:

The candidates may download a copy of the on-line application and admit card and submit the same along with the attested copies (duly attested by a Gazetted Officer) of all relevant documents in support of date of birth, educational qualification (supported by appropriate mark sheets indicating the subjects offered at the examinations), caste, experience at the time of interview. Candidates who report for the interview without any of the supporting documents will not be allowed to appear before the interview committee.
  4. The facility of online application will be opeed on 05/05/2014 and closed on 30/05/2014. In case of huge response to any post, the screening will be restricted to those with higher percentage of marks and more experience or a screening test of the eligible candidates will be conducted in order to shortlist the candidates to be called for the interview.
  5. Candidates will be called for technical interview based on their academic and professional qualifications and experience in the relevant field. Final selection will be based on the performance in the interview.
  6. Selected candidates, on their appointment, will be governed by the New Contributory Pension Scheme as notified by Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, Government of India vide Notification No. F.No. 5/7/2003-ECB&PR dtd. 22/12/2003.
  7. Candidates will be called for technical interview based on their academic and professional qualifications and experience in the relevant field. Final selection will be based on the performance in the interview.
  8. Selected candidates, on their appointment, will be governed by the New Contributory Pension Scheme as notified by Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, Government of India vide Notification No. F.No. 5/7/2003-ECB&PR dtd. 22/12/2003.
  9. Reservation as per rules will be applicable.
  10. Posting of the selected candidates would be at the discretion of the competent authority as per the availability of vacancies. They are liable to be posted to any of the Units of BARC located in India or to a part of India in any constituent units of Department of Atomic Energy.
  11. The candidates called for interview from outstation will be paid to and fro rail fare by SECOND CLASS/ SLEEPER or actual fare whichever is less.
  12. Age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST/regular Government servants working in posts which are in the same line and 3 years for OBC candidates not belonging to creamy layer.
  13. A non-refundable application processing fee of `250/- (Rupees Two hundred and fifty only) is chargeable from applicants. Candidates belonging to SC/ST, dependents of defence service personnel killed in action, persons with physical disability and women candidates are exempted from payment of this fee. Persons with physical disability should produce necessary certificate from Govt. Hospital/Medical Board in support of their claim. For payment of the application fee, the candidate may download the three fold challan from the website : www.barcrecruit.gov.in and make the payment in any branch of the State Bank of India. After making payment in the bank, the portion of Institution copy should be produced along with the application form at the time of interview.
  14. Persons working in the Central/State Government/Public Sector Undertaking should submit a ‘NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE” from the employer at the time of interview. 16. Appointment for all the posts is subject to successful medical examination by the Department.
  15. Before applying for the post, the candidates should ensure that he/she fulfill all the eligibility norms. The candidates should possess the prescribed Educational qualifications from a recognized University/Institution as on the closing date of submission of the application.
  16. Period of experience (where applicable) will be reckoned as on closing date of submission of on-line application.
  17. The candidate belonging to SC/ST/OBC should clearly indicate the same in the application (even if they apply against Un-Reserved posts) and should submit proof of the same in the prescribed format at the time of interview failing which they will be treated as unreserved and subsequent representations for the change of community status will not be entertained.
