  • Experience: Minimum 22 Years and above experience for working with Refinery / Petrochemical Complex.
  • Job Purpose: Coordinates operational activities in Petroleum Refinery, troubleshoots unit’s day-to-day problems and provides technical support/advise to unit mangers for the operational aspects. 
  • Job Responsibilities:
  • Coordinates operational activities in the various operating areas, troubleshoots units day-to-day problems and provides technical support/advise to Department Manager and Section Heads in the operational aspects of the units.
  • Develop the best parameters and best practices for most profitable mode of operation. Liaises with the concerned staff in Technical Department for detailed troubleshooting and elimination of recurring problems.
  • Reviews start-up, shutdown, emergency and other operating procedures and standing instructions for all units in the department and update them according to the best practices and the operational experiences. Plans and ensures testing of critical/emergency shutdown systems and keeps up-to-date records.
  • Review shutdown jobs based on inspection reports, safety audits and operation requirements.
  • Maintain safe and smooth operation by determining & specifying operating parameters, indicating details of any procedures required on regular/daily basis to achieve production targets, highlights maintenance work to be carried out, and provides any specific instructions/ procedures required related to safety and operations.
  • Guide Section Heads in planning Units shutdowns and turnarounds program in coordination with Maintenance Planning Section Head. Reviews shutdown reports and equipment conditions with Inspection Section Head. Approves maintenance requests, monitoring work and progress in liaison with appropriate maintenance personnel and advises section heads accordingly. Preparation of operating/capital budgets.
  • Chairs meetings and/or forms committees for the resolution of operational concerns and improvement of plant performance, providing technical advice.
  • Studies and analyzes equipment/units performance and issues all types of modification requests. Reviews and comments on the same during different stages of implementation. Participates or leads teams in all types of HAZOP/HAZAN studies.
  • Reviews modification drawings, issues comments on such modifications and suggests improvements where necessary. Plans, directs, coordinates and organizes the activities of assigned personnel in the department towards the safe, efficient and optimum operations. Ensures effective implementation, maintenance & periodic review at QEHSMS in the department.

  • Proven experience of projects from concept to commissioning with expertise in preparing Concept Papers, Pre-feasibility Reports / Study, Engineering Design Package with Unit Licensors, Coordinating with Unit Licensors.
  • Hands on experience of Process / Equipment Design, Process Improvement
  • Possess competency in drafting communication like project approval notes, Statutory Clearances from Govt Authorities.
  • Hands-on experiences in unit operations, performance monitoring will be preferred.
  • Well conversant with process software.
  • Capable of handling big projects, process simulations.
  • Possess excellent verbal & written communication skills.
