Detail Of Post:

Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), the statutory body functioning under the administrative control of the Govt. of India, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution (Department of Consumer Affairs) and responsible for activities in the field of Standardization, Product and System Certification, Hallmarking of Gold/Silver Jewellery, Laboratory Testing, etc. in the country, INVITES on-line applications from the ELIGIBLE individuals for filling up of vacancies in the following posts at BIS Headquarters, New Delhi and/or BIS Offices anywhere in India, as per the details given below:

Junior Stenographer:

No of Post : 23

Educational Qualification: Graduate with One Year Diploma / Certificate in Computers from a reputed Organization; Shorthand speed of 80 words per minute which the candidates shall be required to transcribe in 50 minutes (English dictation) and in 65 minutes (Hindi dictation) in English or in Hindi and knowledge of Computer.

Pay Scale: INR (PB-1) Rs.5200-20200 + Grade Pay Rs.2400/-

Age Limit: 18-27 years.

 

Stenographer:

No of Post : 11

Educational Qualification: (a) Degree from a recognized University (b) Shorthand test in English or Hindi comprising dictation test at 100 words per minute for ten minutes which the candidates shall be required to transcribe in 40 minutes (English dictation) and in 55 minutes (Hindi dictation) and knowledge of Computer.

Pay Scale: INR (PB-2) Rs.9300-34800 + Grade Pay Rs.4200/-

Age Limit: 18-30 years.

Upper Division Clerk (UDC):

No of Post :25

Educational Qualification: Graduate from recognized university

Pay Scale: INR (PB-1) Rs.5200-20200 + Grade Pay Rs.2400/-

Age Limit: 18-30 years.

Senior Technician:

No of Post : 17

Educational Qualification: Matric or equivalent; Certificate from ITI in the trade of Electrician / AirConditioning/Mechanic (Diesel Engine) or its equivalent, two years’ practical experience in the respective trade after having obtained the ITI Certificate or ITI Certificate in the trade of Fitter / Carpenter / Plumber / Wireman / Welding, preferably having also passed Welders qualifying tests as per IS 7318 or its equivalent, two years practical experience in the respective trade after having obtained the ITI Certificate.

Pay Scale: INR (PB-1) Rs.5200-20200 + Grade Pay Rs.2400/-

Age Limit: 18-30 years.

 

Technical Assistant (Lab):

No of Posts : 42

Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Science (with Microbiology as one of the main subject) with minimum 60% marks (50% for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes) or three years Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Civil/Chemical with minimum 60% marks (50% marks for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes)

Pay Scale: INR (PB-2) Rs.9300-34800 + Grade Pay Rs.4200/-

Age Limit: 18-30 years.

Application Fee: The application fees of Rs. 500/- will be payable only by General and OBC category candidates. No fee would be paid by SCs/STs/PWDs/ Women and BIS Departmental candidates.

 

Selection Procedure:

Candidates can apply on or before  01/02/2016

How To Apply?:

Candidates will have to go to the BIS website www.bis.org.in and click on tab “Recruitment Advt./Results” under the head “Career Opportunities” and then click on “APPLY ONLINE” which will open a new screen.

To register application, choose the tab “Click here for New Registration” and enter Name, Contact details and Email-id. A Provisional Registration Number and Password will be generated by the system and displayed on the screen. Candidate should note down the Provisional Registration Number and Password. An Email & SMS indicating the Provisional Registration number and Password will also be sent.

In case the candidate is unable to complete the application form in one go, he / she can save the data already entered by choosing “SAVE AND NEXT” tab. Prior to submission of the online application candidates are advised to use the “SAVE AND NEXT” facility to verify the details in the online application form and modify the same if required. Visually Impaired candidates should fill the application form carefully and verify/ get the details verified to ensure that the same are correct prior to final submission.

Candidates are advised to carefully fill and verify the details filled in the online application themselves as no change will be possible/ entertained after clicking the FINAL SUBMIT BUTTON.

The Name of the candidate or his /her Father/ Husband etc. should be spelt correctly in the application as it appears in the Certificates/ Mark sheets/Identity proof. Any change/alteration found may disqualify the candidature.

Validate your details and Save your application by clicking the ‘Validate your details’ and ‘Save & Next’ button.

Candidates can proceed to upload Photo & Signature as per the specifications given in the Guidelines for Scanning and Upload of Photograph and Signature detailed under point “C”.

Candidates can proceed to fill other details of the Application Form.
