Project Engineer & More Vacancies


Project Engineer

  1. Eligibility: A Degree in Civil Engineering or a Diploma in Civil Engineering with 2 years’ experience.Good interpersonal skills.Preference will be given to candidates with own conveyance (two wheeler) and /or experience of similar work
  2. Consolidated Salary: Rs.25,000/- p.m.
  3. Job responsibilities of the Project Engineer will include (but not exclusively) to:
    • Help the School Management Committees (SMCs) with appropriate technical inputs so that they can select the right design for the handwashing facility
    • Mediate the discussions between the SMCs and the technical agency so that a proper plan of implementation for the hardware components including site selection for handwashing facilities, site selection for wall writing, site selection for soak pit etc. can be done for each school.
    • Maintain close coordination with the Senior Project Associate and ensure that the technical agency is appraised in time about the preparedness of the schools for installation.
    • Ensure that the technical agency completes installation as per the timeline agreed upon
    • Ensure quality of installation as per the approved plan and estimate in all schools.
    • Ensure that after completion of the installation in each quarter, the technical agency submits bill as per approved rates in due time
    • Orient the programme team on the technical aspects of the project including the facilities installed, basic science of soakpit, sanitation and water chemistry
    • Photo documentation of each school before and after installation
    • Any other responsibilities assigned by the Project Manager from time to time


Project Accounts Officer:

  1. Eligibility: An M.Com or B.Com degree with minimum 2 years’ experienceGood interpersonal skillsComputer proficiency- Tally, MS Office package Preference will be given to candidates with experience of working in a development sector organization
  2. Consolidated Salary: Rs.20,000/- p.m.
  3. Job responsibilities of the Project Accounts Officer will include (but not exclusively) to:
    • Develop quarterly budget in consultation with the Project Manager
    • Facilitate timely processing of requests for advances and settlement of bills
    • Facilitate timely approval and tally entry of bills as per rules
    • Prepare the Statement of Expenditure (SoE), for each quarter as per donor norms
    • Maintain the physical vouchers as per the SoE for inspection by the donor quarterly
    • Prepare the FACE form of advance request, get it signed by the Project Manager and submit it to donor in time
    • Ensure that each team member timely submits their bills /vouchers along with reports.
    • Ensure that the technical agency (hardware installation agency) to whom the installation work will be awarded, submits bills in each quarter against the installations and the payment to the party is made in time.
    • Prepare the monthly budget for the project and present to the Project Manager the cash requirement for the next month within 25th Day of the preceding month
    • Ensure that the Bank Reconciliation is prepared every month
    • Train the staff members on accounts procedures and maintenance of accounts and other records that are essential for audit
    • Any other responsibility assigned by the Project Manager from time to time
    • Reporting: to the Project Manager


Project Associates (Six posts): Eligibility:

  1. Post Graduate degree in Life Science/ Environmental Sciences/Social Sciences or Bachelor degree with minimum 2 year experience of working in field on an environmental or social project Fluent in Assamese (Reading, Writing, Speaking)Good interpersonal and communication skills Good knowledge about the Elementary Education system in Assam Willingness to work in rural areas Computer proficiency- MS Office package
  2. Salary: Rs.15,000/- p.m.
  3. Reporting: to the Senior Project Associate
  4. Job responsibilities of the Project Associates will be (but not exclusive) to:
    • Timely execution of the activities as laid down in the PCA including surveys, organization of the sensitization meetings, orientation workshops, learning visits, and interactions.
    • Make regular field visits to the project schools and work closely with the teachers, students, SMC members and Mothers group members
    • Develop individual monthly project action plans in consultation with the Project Officer and Senior Project Associate and ensure that the activities are executed according to the plan
    • Facilitate visit of the Project Engineer to the schools so that the Engineer can meet the Head Teacher, SMC members, Students, Mothers Group members etc. and the School can select the right design for the handwashing facility and prepare a proper plan
    • Facilitate the process of signing of the agreements between CEE and the SMCs
    • Oversee the augmentation/ construction work and report the progress to the Senior Project Associate and Project Engineer
    • Prepare the schools for deworming as and when organized by NRHM
    • Linking the DHaAL Plus Schools with other CEE project Schools in the area
    • Maintain necessary records enabling monitoring, audit and timely report generation
    • Submit weekly reports of activities to the Senior Project Associate
    • Liaise with the Block level Offices of SSA, PHED for garnering support to the project
    • Any other responsibilities assigned by the Project Manager from time to time


General: Position 1 and Position 2 will be based at Guwahati. Position 3 will be based at different education blocks in Kamrup district.

Except the Project Accounts Officer, all other incumbents will need to undertake extensive field work in remote rural areas (about 90% time).
