CEPT University invites applications for the post of Director – Communications and Public Affairs (CPA) at CEPT University. This is a full-time fixed tenure position. Communication and Public Affairs office shows and tells CEPT’s stories in order to engage and inspire audiences, elevate the image of the University, and create lasting connections for and with its community. CPA coordinates with print and online media for all official news releases, press events etc. CPA manages CEPT’s websites and its presence on various online media / forums and coordinates graphic design tasks for the university. This includes preparation of print copy of university-wide course catalog (each semester) and other collaterals for the University as and when needed.
Roles & Responsibilities: Communication & Media strategy Develop & implement comprehensive, strategic communication plans aimed at elevating the image of the University internationally, nationally and regionally. Lead all tasks of the CPA and ensure timely completion with support from full-time staff and consultants appointed from time to time. Oversee preparation and implementation of the budget of CPA.Advise and guide various strategic initiatives of the University and help communicate them effectively to internal and external audiences.
Online Presence Manage University’s online presence through its primary website, student and faculty work website (portfolio), admissions website, summer winter school website and social networking sites (including Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, Instagram, etc.) Provide support and guidance to various units at the University regarding their online presence and help them manage the same.
Newsletters & External Communication Manage the University newsletters and external communications with various audiences.
Media & External relations Plan various press events and help enhance the image of the University and its national and international visibility through various modes of communication.
Branding and Publications Promote and uphold the CEPT Brand and monitor its appropriate use through use guide, orientation workshops etc. Oversee preparation of course catalogs, university brochures and other collaterals.
Editing Support Provide editorial support for important communications / publications prepared by various units of the University. Provide editorial support on internal platforms for admissions, registration, summer winter school etc.
Qualifications and Experience: Master’s degree in media relations, journalism or a related field from a well-recognized University / InstituteMinimum 10 years of experience, at-least five years at a senior level implementing media plans/strategy in a corporate, institutional or agency environment
Desired Skills: Excellent writing, editing and oral communication skills in EnglishStrong understanding of brand and storytelling skills with refined visual aesthetics Proven ability to work on multiple projects with challenging deadlinesProven ability to manage routine and ongoing local/regional media efforts, crisis communications, print and online news publications, social media, etc.Excellent administrative and team management skillsAbility to work effectively with faculty, staff, students and external stakeholdersProficient in graphics / publication applications and social media toolsGood regional and national network of media contacts is desirable
The Director – Communications & Public Affairs shall be appointed initially for a three-year fixed-tenure, which may be extended after review.
