Country Office Manager for Bioversity International
ICRISAT invites applications from Indian nationals for the position of Country Office Manager for Bioversity International. The position will be based at the Bioversity International, New Delhi, India.
ICRISAT is a non-profit organization that helps empower poor people in the rural drylands of Africa and Asia to overcome poverty, hunger and malnutrition, through making agriculture profitable and sustainable. The Job Oversee and support general accounting, expenditure monitoring and financial reporting for office related activities including office signatories for clearance and approval;
Oversee and support the procurement of supplies, equipment and services including the monitoring and evaluation of vendor contracts;
Oversee facilities maintenance, building and security, transport services and related activities; liaise with related service providers to ensure effective services;
Prepare and monitor the annual operating and capital budgets for the Office;
Oversee and provide hands-on support to the administrative aspects of HR-related services, including providing advice to staff on general HR matters in line with the hosting institute and Bioversity policies;
Oversee protocol services, including facilitating employment visas, resident permits, related documentation, FRRO registration;
Liaise with HQ on the organization of internal and external audits and provide support to such audits in the Office;
Oversee provision of administrative, finance and HR services to project outreach offices as assigned (currently Bengaluru);
Regularly review administrative processes and procedures to ensure services are delivered in the most efficient and effective manner, and in compliance with Bioversity policies and procedures and in compliance with national laws, and make recommendations for improvement; develop and implement related procedures and processes;
Support, motivate and supervise a team of support staff in New Delhi and project outreach offices in other locations in India;
Liaise with HQ for implementing staff hosting arrangements (currently with ICRISAT and University of Horticultural Sciences, Bagalkot);
Liaise with Bioversity staff and ensure all logistic support for organising conferences, workshops, trainings and meetings (within India), both nationally and internationally;
Service as Bioversity Security Focal point for India
Ensure physical assets are adequately maintained and insured, and inventory conducted per Bioversity policies.
Any other duties as assigned.
Candidate Profile & Qualifications/Skills A University degree in Business Administration, finance, accounting or related field.
Minimum of 6 years’ relevant experience, preferably in an international working environment including supervisory experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of standard office procedures in Finance and Administration
Good understanding of national project partner operations.
Strong computer skills with relevant software packages (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint); working knowledge of Accounting software is an advantage.
Superior interpersonal, communications and teamwork skills; courtesy, tact and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with people of cultural and national backgrounds.
Highly developed skills with personal organization, priority setting, problem solving and report writing.
Excellent command of English and Hindi, both written and spoken.
Superior client orientation and service approach.
High degree of judgment and initiative; ability to work with a high degree of independence within assigned areas
