COMPANY PROFILE Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd. (MTNL) was incorporated under the Indian Companies Act, 1956 with the objective of taking over the management, control and operation of Telecom Network at Mumbai and Delhi with a view to raise necessary financial resources for development needs for areas of operations and to up-grade the same. MTNL is a schedule – ‘A’/ Navaratna CPSE in Telecommunications and Information Technology Services sector under the administrative control of Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communication and Information Technology.
JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Director(Technical) is a member of Board of Directors and reports to Chairman and Managing Director. He is responsible for drawing up business plan, expansion of telecommunication network, development of new services, technology forecasting and technology data, technology policy governing switching and transmission equipment, research and development, evaluation of tariff policies for the basic/ Mobile telecom and value added services rendered by MTNL. Further, the Director(Technical) shall be responsible for the selling of the landline and mobile network and other facilities/services so created to achieve the business plans
AGE: On the date of occurrence of vacancy (DOV): Min 45 Years Max – 58 Years
Employment Status: The applicant must, on the date of application, as well as on the date of interview, be employed in a regular capacity – and not in a contractual/ad-hoc capacity – as one of the following:- (i) An officer of a Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) (including a full-time functional Director in the Board of a CPSE); (ii) An officer of the Central Government/ Armed Forces of the Union; (iii) An officer of an All India Service.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE: The candidate should be an engineering graduate or equivalent preferably in Telecommunications Engineering with good academic record from a recognised university/institution. He should have adequate experience at senior level in a large organisation of good repute. Persons with experience in the field of operations, MTce, Planning and Development of large Telecom network would have added advantage. Minimum qualification is relaxable in the case of internal candidates and Government officers with relevant and adequate background and experience.
PAY SCALE: Rs. 75,000 – 1,00,000/
DURATION OF APPOINTMENT The appointment shall be for a period of five years or upto the date of superannuation whichever is earlier.
