Applications are invited from eligible officers for appointment to the post of Deputy Curator (Exhibition), Group “A”, Gazetted, Non-Ministerial in PB-3, Rs. 15600-39100, Grade Pay of Rs. 5400/- by composite method [Deputation (including short term contract) plus promotion)] in the National Museum, New Delhi under the Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India.
Job Description: To assist Director General National Museum / Director (Exhibition & Public Relations) in planning and organizing exhibitions within India as well as abroad.
Eligibility Officers under the Central Government or State Governments or Union Territories or University Recognized Research Institutions or Public Sector Undertakings or Semi Sector Undertakings or Semi Government or Statutory or Autonomous Organizations: (a)(i) holding analogous post on regular basis in the parent cadre or Department; OR (ii) with five years’ service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in posts in the pay band Rs. 9300–34800+4200/- Grade Pay(Pre-revised Rs. 6500-10,500) or equivalent in the parent cadre or Department; OR (iii) with eight years’ service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in post in the pay band of Rs. 9300-34800+4200/- Grade Pay (Pre-revised Rs. 5500-9000) or equivalent in the parent cadre or Department; and (b) possessing the educational qualifications and experience as under:
Essential: (i) (a)Master’s degree from a recognized University or equivalent in History or Sanskrit or Pali or Prakrit or Arabic or Persian or Archaeology or Anthropology or Fine Arts or History of Art; and (b) Diploma in Museology from a recognized University or institution or equivalent.
OR Master’s degree from a recognized University or equivalent in Museology with History as a subject at Bachelor’s degree level. (ii) Three years’ experience in planning and organizing of art and archaeology exhibitions in a Museum of national or regional importance under the control of Central Government or State Governments or Union Territories. Desirable:M. Phil Degree in the relevant field from a recognized university or equivalent.
