Detail Of Post:

Mumbai Port Trust (MbPT) invites applications for recruitment in Class I (15 posts), Class II (1 post) and Class III (7 posts) by direct recruitment. Prospective candidates will have to apply online after carefully reading the advertisement regarding the process of examination, interview, eligibility criteria, online registration processes, payment of prescribed application fee/ intimation charges, pattern of examination, issuance of admit cards/call letters etc. and ensure that they fulfil the stipulated criteria and follow the prescribed processes.

Emoluments & Benefits a) For CLASS I posts: Basic pay of Rs.20600/- in the scale of Rs.20600-46500 and other admissible allowances as applicable. Total emoluments will be approximately Rs.52000/- per month plus HRA @ 30% of Basic Pay (if not residing in Mumbai Port Trust quarters) b) For CLASS II posts: Basic pay of Rs.16400/- in the scale of Rs.16400-40500 and other admissible allowances as applicable. Total emoluments will be approximately Rs.41000/- per month plus HRA @ 30% of Basic Pay (if not residing in Mumbai Port Trust quarters) (c) For Class III posts: (i) For Jr Engineer Gr III (T/E, Mech, Elect) – Basic pay of Rs.19100/- in the scale of Rs.19100-51100 and other admissible allowances as applicable. Total emoluments will be approximately Rs.26000/- per month plus HRA @ 30% of Basic Pay (if not residing in Mumbai Port Trust quarters). (ii) For Jr Engineer Gr IV – Basic pay of Rs.17700/- in the scale of Rs.17700-44600 and other admissible allowances as applicable. Total emoluments will be approximately Rs.24200/- per month plus HRA @ 30% of Basic Pay (if not residing in Mumbai Port Trust quarters).

Minimum/Maximum Age [To be reckoned as on 1.2.2016] i) For Class I posts:Upper Age limit: not more than 30 years Candidate must have been born not earlier than 2.2.1986 and not later than 1.2.1998 (both days inclusive). ii) For Class II post:Minimum Age: 23 years Maximum Age: 30 years Candidate must have been born not earlier than 2.2.1986 and not later than 1.2.1993 (both days inclusive). iii) For Class III posts: (a) Jr.Engineer Gr III (T/E) – Minimum Age: 18 years Maximum Age: 30 years. Candidate must have been born not earlier than 2.2.1986 and not later than 1.2.1998(both days inclusive) (b) Jr.Engineer Gr III (Mech) – Minimum Age: 18 years Maximum Age: 30 years. Candidate must have been born not earlier than 2.2.1986 and not later than 1.2.1998 (both days inclusive). (c) Jr.Engineer Gr III (Elect) – Minimum Age: 18 years Maximum Age: 30 years. Candidate must have been born not earlier than 2.2.1986 and not later than 1.2.1998 (both days inclusive). (d) Jr.Engineer Gr IV – Minimum Age: 21 years Maximum Age: 30 years. Candidate must have been born not earlier than 2.2.1986 and not later than 1.2.1995 (both days inclusive).

Essential & Desirable Educational and other qualifications:Essential:- A degree from a recognized University. Desirable:- Two years executive experience in Shipping/Cargo operations/railway transportation in an Industrial/Commercial/Govt. Undertakings/ For Asstt Executive Engineer (Mechanical) Essential:- Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University/ Institution. Desirable:- Two years’ experience in relevant discipline in executive cadre in an Industrial/Commercial/Govt. Undertaking./For Asstt Executive Engineer (Electrical) Essential:- Degree or equivalent in Electrical/ Electronics & Communications Engineering from a recognized University/ Institution. Desirable:- Two years’ experience in relevant discipline in executive cadre in an Industrial/Commercial/Govt. Undertaking./ Essential :- Degree with a Post Graduate degree/diploma in Architecture/Town and Country Planning or degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university/institution or Corporate membership of Institution of Surveyor (India). Desirable :- i) A degree in Law from a recognized university. ii) Two years executive experience in Estate Management, Valuation of Land Records in an Industrial/Commercial/Govt. Undertaking./ Accounts Officer Gr. I:Essential :- Member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India. Desirable :- (i) Two years experience in Executive cadre in the field of Finance. Accounting in an Industrial/ Commercial/ Govt. Undertaking/ Asstt. Security Officer:Essential : A degree in Arts, Science or Commerce or Law of a recognized university and ability to speak, read and write Marathi, Hindi and English. Desirable: Additional Qualification such as ‘B’ and ‘C’ Certificates of the National Cadet Corps and /or work/service experience with the Police or as Short Service Commissioned Officer or with the CISF or Railway Protection Force or in Border Security Force is desirable. Minimum Physical requirements: Height: 165 cms. Chest: 81 cms. at full expiration and 86 cms. after full inspiration There should be a difference of at least 5 cms. between the measurements taken after full expiration and full inspiration. Weight: 50 kg./ Jr. Engineer Gr III (T/E):Essential: A Diploma in Electronics/Electrical /Telecommunication /Computer Technology by the State Board of Technical Education with minimum two years experience OR Graduate with Certifications like CCNA/MCSE/CNE or Post Graduate Diploma in Systems Administration/ Networking from NCST or Certificate from any institute which conducts equivalent examination for Electronics/Telecommunication/ Computer Science/ Networking, recognized by AICTE. Jr. Engineer Gr III (Mech): Essential: (i) Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (obtained after passing course of not less than three years duration) from recognized University or Institute. (ii) First Class Electrical Supervisor’s certificate of competency issued by State Government or Union territory/ Jr. Engineer Gr III (Elect):Essential: (i) Diploma in Electrical Engineering. (ii) 3 years experience./Jr. Engineer Gr IV Essential: (i) SSC or its equivalent exam passed. (ii) Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Automobile or Textile Engineering of 3 years duration from a recognized institutes. Desirable. 3 years experience in the inspection of Engineering stores in a large Stores Organisation.

 

Selection Procedure:

Candidates can apply on or before  22/02/2016

For Class I & II posts, the candidates have to appear for an online test as mentioned in Para IV of the advertisement. The shortlisted candidates from online test may be called for interview. The selection will be made on the basis of overall performance in Online Examination and Interview. In respect of post of Asstt. Security Officer, shortlisted candidates based on online test will have to undergo Physical requirement tests and test of proficiency in essential language. The candidates complying with the necessary physical standards and passing language proficiency test (35% minimum in each language separately) will only be eligible for further participation in recruitment process. For Class III posts, selection will be made on the basis of performance in Online Examination. The selection of shortlisted candidates for all posts will be subject to verification of required documents as indicated in this advertisement, in original. Non submission of requisite documents by the candidate during this process will disqualify his candidature from further participation in the 11 recruitment process. Further, in case it is found during verification that requisite documents do not meet the prescribed criteria, his candidature will not be considered any further in the recruitment process.

LIST OF DOCUMENTS TO BE PRODUCED AT THE TIME OF INTERVIEW (applicable for Class I & II posts): The following documents in original and self-attested photocopies in support of the candidate’s eligibility and identity are to be invariably submitted at the time of interview failing which the candidate may not be permitted to appear for the interview. Non submission of requisite documents by the candidate at the time of interview will debar his candidature from further participation in the recruitment process. (i) Interview Call Letter (ii) Valid system generated printout of the online application form registered for the online examination and e-receipt. (iii) Proof of Date of Birth (Birth Certificate issued by the Competent Municipal Authorities or SSLC/ Std. X Certificate with DOB) (iv) Photo Identity Proof as indicated in clause pertaining to *IDENTITY VERIFICATION of this advertisement (v) Mark-sheets & certificates of educational qualifications and other relevant eligibility criteria documents as indicated against concerned posts. (vi) Caste Certificate, along with caste validity certificate, issued by the competent authority in the prescribed format as stipulated by Government of India in the case of SC / ST / OBC category candidates. Prescribed formats are attached herewith. In case of candidates belonging to OBC category, certificate should specifically contain a clause that the candidate does not belong to creamy layer section excluded from the benefits of reservation for Other Backward Classes in Civil posts & services under Government of India. OBC caste certificate containing the Non-creamy layer clause should be valid as on the date of interview, if called for/shortlisting (as applicable) [issued within one year prior to the date of interview, if called for/shortlisting (as applicable)]. Caste Name mentioned in certificate should tally letter by letter with Central Government list / notification. Candidates belonging to OBC category but coming under creamy layer and/ or if their caste does not find place in the Central List are not entitled to OBC reservation. They should indicate their category as General in the online application form. (vii) Special instructions for SC/ST/OBC: a) The Caste/Tribe/Community certificate issued by the following Authorities in the prescribed form for SCs/STs and for OBCs will only be accepted as proof in support of a candidate’s claim as belonging to the SC/ST/OBC categories: (1) District Magistrate / Additional District Magistrate /Collector/Deputy Commissioner/ Deputy Collector/ First Class Stipendiary Magistrate/ Sub-Divisional Magistrate/ Taluka Magistrate/Executive Magistrate/Extra Assistant Commissioner (Not below the rank of First Class Stipendiary Magistrate). (2) Chief Presidency Magistrate/Additional Chief Presidency Magistrate/ Presidency Magistrate. (3) Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tehsildar. (4) Sub-Divisional Officer of the area where the candidate and/or his family normally resides.

Candidates meeting the eligibility criteria, requisite essential qualifications and in case of Class III posts having valid registration in local Employment Exchange may apply online through the link available on MbPT website www.mumbaiport.gov.in under ‘Vacancy’ menu. Responsibility of receiving, downloading and printing of Admit Card for online test / Call letter for Interview and Physical tests shall be that of the candidates. MbPT will not be responsible for any loss of E-mail sent, due to invalid/wrong E-mail ID provided by the candidate or delivery of e-mails to Spam/ Bulk mail folder etc.
