This is an entry level engineering position focused on design, development, troubleshooting, and analysis of Syniverse products.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyze and Design
Understand the Project domain and architecture.
Understand the requirement and design/approach related to the project tasks assigned to the individual.
Ramp up / learn the software components of the project including any apis and 3rd party components.
Ramp up / Learn on the application deployment environment like hardware, operating system (Linux etc.) and specific application servers.
Gain Product functional knowledge to the Unit/Component level
Analyze information to determine, recommend, and plan installation of a new system or modification of an existing system.
Prepare reports or correspondence concerning project specifications, activities, or status.
Develop and unit test the system as per design and plan.
Create / develop and execution of unit test cases.
Adaptation to the various Syniverse tools
Software testing and creation and maintenance of documentation
Coordinate installation of Software System/Releases/Builds
Modify existing software to correct errors, to adapt it to new hardware, or to upgrade interfaces and improve performance.
Identifying Defect and Defect Tracking/Management
Log Analysis and finding Root Cause find errors or to upgrade/big fix interfaces, enhancements and improve performance
Adherence to the defined process
Individual status reports
Adherence to Technical and Process Documentation as per project requirements
Gain knowledge Product Architecture
Gain knowledge on the DB Architecture
*Associate Software Engineer I will have the following added responsibilities:
Interact and learn the product and systems technical details, management of issues and all aspects of the respective role
Support production by monitoring system processes, working to resolve system issues and follow established escalation procedures as required. Ability to manage issues of differing stages of investigation and priority with Inputs from team members.
Maintain technical expertise by keeping abreast of technologies as they apply to Syniverse products and services
Learn and suggest ideas for product stability and functional improvements.
Adaptation to the Syniverse SDLC and Test processes
Understanding and adherence to the Syniverse Corporate and HR policies
Adaptation to the Corporate culture and Syniverse Culture
Adaptation to the team environments and become a successful Team Contributor and work collaboratively with all the team members
Gain domain knowledge as well as build awareness to various Syniverse product
Support peers in product and systems technical details, management of issues and all aspects of the respective role
Continuous process improvements & implementation.
Provide best-in-class customer service and resolution to customer queries
Ability to manage multiple issues of differing stages of investigation and priority with minimal assistance.
Software Engineer Trainee
0-1 years of relevant professional experience in the areas of application support, technical customer support, problem management, relational databases, programming languages, software development or products testing and Quality Assurance
Responsible for dealing with International/Domestic Clients
Knowledge of Java, J2EE, UNIX, Oracle Database and SQL
Ability to communicate status updates to project team and management
Ability to work independently as well as Team
Good communication skills

Exceptional customer service skills and demeanor, along with the innovative ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical clients
Excellent analytical, multitasking, and communication skills (both verbal and written), detail orientation and familiarity with testing and troubleshooting techniques.
